This gentleman is Jay Lewis. In 2021 he volunteered at a KidneyMobile® screening in East St. Louis. He decided to go through the screening himself and was surprised to learn he had several risk factors for kidney disease, including dangerously high blood pressure. With the help of NKFI, he changed his diet and lifestyle and lost close to 80lbs. By the time the KidneyMobile® returned to East St. Louis in 2022, his numbers were greatly improved.
This year, on #worldkidneyday 2024, he helped facilitate a large screening and health fair so other members of his community can get the information and support they need to protect their kidneys.
