This moment, brought to you by your kidneys...
When Dillon was just 4 years old, he was diagnosed with Alport Syndrome. When he turned 20, he was put on peritoneal dialysis and placed on the transplant list. He shared his need for a kidney on social media.
His mom's cousin Miranda, answered the call from all the way in Georgia. She was a match! In early November, they met for the first time and underwent transplant surgery in Springfield, IL.
Dillon says, "Since she gave me a kidney I have so much more energy and now hope for the future. My family has been there every step of the way. I have an amazing support system and amazing doctors and transplant team. Thank you Dr. West, Dr. Garfinkle, nurses and staff and my true hero Miranda."
