The National Kidney Foundation of Illinois' Renal Roundtable series features an evening medical education program for professionals in renal care that focuses on a select topic of clinical relevance to advance the understanding, treatment, and prevention of kidney disease and related conditions.

Physicians (primary care and all specialties) and advanced practitioners are invited to attend. The lecture and dinner are complimentary but registration is required. ​

  • Understand the pathophysiology, presentation and diagnosis of Fabry disease

  • Explore the renal manifestations of Fabry disease and how these impact overall patient health and prognosis

  • Review methods for measuring and monitoring renal effects

  • Understand the importance of renal data as an indicator of the overall health of patients with Fabry disease​

Carolyn Jones, MD, PhD, FACMG

 

Director of Genetics, Professor of Pediatrics

Rush University Medical Center​

 

Dr. Carolyn Jones is a clinical geneticist in Chicago, Illinois and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Rush University Medical Center and Rush Copley Medical Center. She received her medical degree from Rush Medical College of Rush University Medical Center and has been in practice for more than 20 years.

"If we can identify a cause, we can then look at other children that have the same genetic disorder. There are two advantages to that. One is anticipatory guidance, specific for that particular abnormality. And the second is hooking up the family with other families that have children with similar disorders." - Dr. Jones
