The Walk for Kidneys was a huge success, thanks to our generous sponsors, donors, walkers, volunteers and board members!
We raised $274,000 by event day and our presenting sponsor Vantive pledged to match all of Team Vantive's gifts, bringing our fundraising total over $301,000, shattering our goal of $280,000!
These donations support the lifechanging work of the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois:
To ensure that families will have a place to turn when they need answers.
To keep up the fight for policy changes to protect kidney patients and living donors.
To drive innovation in prevention and transplantation and get more loved ones off the kidney transplant waitlist.
Special thanks to the members of our Board of Directors who came out to support the event: Curt Anliker, Dr. Tipu Puri, Jim Easterbrook, Dr. Andres Serrano, Jill Schaaf, Dr. Deepak Mital, Gavin Campbell, Pam McElvane and Dr. Suneel Udani. And a very special thanks to our emcee Regina Waldroup for sharing her heartfelt journey with both polycystic kidney and liver diseases with our more than 1,500 walkers.
