The National Kidney Foundation of Illinois' Renal Roundtable series features an evening medical education program for professionals in renal care that focuses on a select topic of clinical relevance to advance the understanding, treatment, and prevention of kidney disease and related conditions.
Nephrologists, fellows, APPs and NPs are invited to attend. The lecture and dinner are complimentary but registration is required.

Evolving the Treatment Paradigm to Earlier Intervention in IgA Nephropathy

Dr. Zainab Obaidi will provide a summary of the clinical burden, disease pathogenesis, and importance of early intervention in IgAN.

Dr. Obaidi is highly regarded by trainees, receiving multiple teaching awards, and leads the UChicago Kidney Club to expand kidney disease awareness.

Zainab Obaidi, MD
Clinical Academic Nephrologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine
University of Chicago
Zainab Obaidi is a clinical academic nephrologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Chicago. She pursued an academic hospitalist fellowship at Johns Hopkins, followed by a 2-year nephrology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Obaidi's academic work emphasizes clinical excellence and bedside teaching, with particular interests in thrombotic microangiopathies and glomerular diseases.
Recognized for her outstanding teaching skills, she has received several awards from residents and fellows. Dr. Obaidi is also dedicated to raising awareness of kidney disease and leads the UChicago Kidney Club. Through her multifaceted role, she aims to advance both clinical practice and medical education in nephrology.
