Medicare Coverage for People with Diabetes Includes:
Diabetic Supplies
Self-testing equipment and supplies to include: glucose monitors, test strips and lancets.
Covers all people with Medicare who have diabetes (insulin users and non-insulin users).
Therapeutic Shoes
Covers therapeutic shoes for people with diabetes to include:
Depth-inlay shoes, custom-molded shoes and shoe inserts.
Covers all people with Medicare Part B and who have diabetes.
Requires your doctor to certify that you have diabetes and that you have certain foot conditions in one or both feet.
Diabetes Self-Management Training
Covers preventative services to include: diabetes self-management training, for all people with Medicare Part B and those who have diabetes.
Medical Nutrition Therapy Services
Covers medical nutrition therapy services for all people with Medicare Part B and who have diabetes or kidney disease.
Flu and Pneumonia Shots
Covers flu and pneumonia shots for all people with Medicare and who have diabetes.
Glaucoma Screening
Covers screening every 12 months for all people with Medicare and who have diabetes.
