While there is no way to reverse kidney failure, there are four treatment options from which a patient may choose: hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, transplantation, and the option of having no treatment at all. Hundreds of thousands of people today are living well on dialysis or with a transplant. There is no single treatment option that is best for everyone. Speak to your nephrologist (kidney doctor) about which treatment is most appropriate for you, based on your medical condition, lifestyle and personal preferences.
