CHAPTER 3:Preparing for Kidney Failure
Topic 8Continuous Cycling Peritoneal Dialysis (CCPD)

Continuous Cycling Peritoneal Dialysis (CCPD): Sometimes called Automated Peritoneal Dialysis (APD), is done at home with a machine called a cycler, usually at night while you sleep. Your catheter is connected to the cycler machine. For eight to ten hours each night the machine fills and drains the dialysate to and from the peritoneal cavity. The machine keeps repeating this process throughout the night.
