CHAPTER 2:Living with Chronic Kidney Disease
Topic 18Blood Glucose
Blood Glucose is the main sugar found in the blood and is the body's main source of energy. A blood test for glucose is used to evaluate blood sugar levels. You can monitor your blood glucose level by taking a small sample of blood through a finger prick and testing it with a small, portable device called a glucometer. A high level of blood sugar is a complication from diabetes and can be harmful to your body, including your kidneys.
