Chronic Pyelonephritis refers to inflammation of the tissue of the kidney caused by recurrent or persistent kidney infections. It occurs only in patients with anatomic abnormalities such as urinary tract obstruction or most commonly, vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) in young children.
